Al-Qalam was established in 2015 by a group of Al-Azhar University graduates, some are scholars or fans of Arabic Calligraphy namely: Ahmed Shakshouk, Ahmed Khalaaf and Mohamed Wahdan, together with their master calligrapher Moustafa Omary and a number of cooperative calligraphers who worked in Cultural management in various non-profit Art institutions on different time spans.
Working in a number of Arts and Culture community initiatives and being fans of Arabic Calligraphy is the common bond between members of the team. Al-Qalam team has now reached 15 members in various fields of specialty.
